Jesus of Nazareth, the Light of the world and the only begotten Son of the true and the living God says:

"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. "For I came to SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW; and A MAN'S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD. "He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. "He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it. "He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me."  (Matthew 10:34-40)

"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters--yes, even his own life--he cannot be my disciple.   And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.  In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple."  (Luke 14:26, 33)

As they were going along the road, someone said to Him, "I will follow you wherever you go." And Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head." And He said to another, "Follow Me." But he said, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father." But He said to him, "Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God." Another also said, "I will follow You, Lord; but first permit me to say good-bye to those at home." But Jesus said to him, "No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."  (Luke 9:57-62)

"And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name's sake, will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life. "But many who are first will be last; and the last, first."  (Matthew 19:29-30)

"The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life."  (John 12:25)

While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. Someone told him, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you."  He replied to him:

"Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"   Pointing to his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers.   For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."  (Matt. 12:46-50)

So, what family have we left if we obey these teachings of Jesus?  Who will love me and care for me and walk with me in the Life Jesus speaks of?  Listen again, but carefully with a heart to receive the Son, for you have just read the answer:

"Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"   Pointing to his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers.   For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."  (Matt. 12:46-50)

The reader might ask, "are you saying that I have to leave, turn my back on, forsake my family in order to follow Jesus?"  The answer is no, I don't say that, rather Jesus says that, you just read His Words, remember?  However, if others are also willing to obey Jesus on this very important teaching, then we have the hope of seeing this come to pass in our lives when on this earth:

"Jesus said, "Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel's sake, but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life."  (Mark 10:29-30)

Yes, it is true that others need to also obey these teachings of Jesus for the "hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms" to come to pass.  But look at the reward for faithfulness - "and in the age to come, eternal life".  To seek after something less, or to settle for something less means we would have to be unfaithful to the Father and thus be disobedient to His Son.  How can you find a new Family on earth to walk on the narrow Way with?  How can you avoid the self-made pain, empiness and futility that comes to those who hear the Words of the Son, yet refuse to obey?  By being willing to DO this:

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:34-35)

By the love of God you will experience through other disciples as you partake of a little flock and walk along the narrow Way together.  Not only will you have true fellowship and love, but you will then be in a place to be used by the Father to reproduce more children and members of His Family.

And what work will the Family members do?  Then Jesus came to them and said:

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.   Therefore go and make disciples of all nations...and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matt. 28:18-20)

The Words of the Son of God above mean what they say.  Are we willing to receive them and thus his Father, himself and each other?

Before we can walk after Him, we must truly let go of everything in this life that holds us back from total surrender and abandonment to the Father's Son and His plain commands.  This is especially true of two things:

1. Our religious/church concepts, ideas, practices and traditions;

2.  Our natural and legal families and relatives.

We can't follow Jesus and at the same time be part of the counterfeit christian religious system which explains away his commands and works quite hard at nullifying them.  Nor can we follow Jesus and be with (hang out with) those who refuse to also follow Jesus.  Nor can we follow Jesus and maintain good relationships with those who refuse to follow, unless we ignore him (refuse to confess him before men, speak his Words consistently and do what he says), and if we ignore him, we do not love him.

If we seek to love one another as he commands, we cannot do that alone - we must seek out other true disciples, and start to serve him together.  We must not deceive ourselves by hanging around (and even living for) people taking the label 'christian', but who are not willing to obey the above commands.  Jesus plainly says, "If you love me, obey my commands." (John 14:15)  So many use as an excuse to not follow Jesus, 'well, these other christians (or natural family members) need help, so I'll stay around and love them by trying to get them to see'.  This is the weakness of our flesh, and since it goes against what Jesus says, it is sin and will lead only to wasted time and failure.  In response, Jesus says...

"As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, "I will follow you wherever you go."  Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."  He said to another man, "Follow me."  But the man replied, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father."  Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God."  Still another said, "I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say good bye to my family."  Jesus replied, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God."  (Luke 9:57-62)

Whose 'love' is true?  Jesus' and those people obeying his commands, or the person disobeying Jesus out of supposed 'love' for others? Oh, the so many who forsake Jesus and his Family, and instead cling to the world (especially christian religion) and those natural or legal relatives who refuse to follow Jesus as he defines it.

Do you desire to be "fit for service in the kingdom of God"?  If you desire to obey his commands with child-like faith, then please contact us, for we also are seeking to obey - and thus love back - the Light of the world.  There is a place for each of us to fulfill God's will for our lives with other true brothers and sisters, and it all starts with faithful obedience to the teachings and commands of the Son of God listed above.
